In the past three years (2006–2008), the number of papers published in conferences and journals by the teachers each year was 31 (15 journal papers and 16 conference papers), 45 (20 journal papers and 25 conference papers), and 45 (8journal papers and 37 conference papers), respectively. In these published papers, four paper in 2006, three papers in 2007, and four papers in 2008 were published in SCI-leveled journals.
Teachers' industrial and academic cooperation and research projects
In recent three years (2007-2009), the teachers in this department received many research grants from industries and governments. For the industrial and academic cooperation research projects, the teachers in this department received 6 industrial and academic cooperation projects in 2007 with the total amount of NTD 300000, 8 projects in 2008 with the total amount of NTD 639,989, 8 projects in 2009. Generally speaking, of the department teachers in undertaking industrial and academic cooperation projects, not only has the number of projects gradually increased every year, but the total amount of projects has shown a gradual up-trend as well.
In connection with the gaining of government projects by the department teachers, there were 2 approved government projects in 2007, and the received grant total was $7,199,129. There were 10 approved government projects in 2008, and the received grant total was $9,065,623. There were 2 approved government projects in 2009.
Participation of domestic and international conferences
Of the department teachers taking part in domestic and international conferences, there were 62 person-times attending domestic and international academic seminars and conferences in 2007, 71 person-times attending in 2008, and 112 person-times attending in 2009.
