About the college

The College of Business and Management has been renowned for its internationalization with the enrollment of international students among Technology Universities in Taiwan. The college has also risen to prominence because it constantly keeps abreast of industry demand and continuously strives for quality research and publication. In recent years, the graduate institute and departments of the college had gained the top rated levels in nation-wide university evaluations from the Ministry of Education. It is honorable for the college to be continuously on the top of the awarded institutes in southern Taiwan. With SMART (Service, Mercy, Appreciation, Respect, Tolerance) philosophies in mind, the college expects to nurture and prepare students to become the most welcomed and best workforce in the nation and worldwide.

For managing the newly business trends and to increase student future job opportunities, the college has setup an interdisciplinary program of “Creativity and Innovative Business Management”.  A certificate will be issued to those who have completed 26 credit hours from the listed 15 courses.

5.     Characteristics of the College

  The characteristics of the college are as follows.

(1)       Quality of Faculty in Teaching and Research Development:

Accreditation: The departments of the college have earned reputations with best ranking programs among technology universities under the nation-wide evaluations from Ministry of Education.  For the excellence of teaching, the college is working further in progress towards international business program accreditation.

Practical Learning: Each year, many publications and research outputs have been produced from various research studies conducted by almost every faculty.  The industrial collaborative projects have brought opportunities for students to participate with.  The close cooperative programs with enterprises provide students chances of service study and internship.  Students learn practically and gain working experiences for future career and employability.

Global Perspective: While the offshore program students study on Taiwan campus, Chinese and English language courses are provided to learn and master further. Courses selected from local student classes (in Chinese), and vice versa (in English), are encouraged for different country students to gain more cultural interaction, global perspectives, and language proficiency.

Certification: Under the university-wide slogan that “Employability the goal, certification the first”, all the students got certificated professionally required by each department before graduation.

(2)       Internationalization:

Overseas Exchange Program: The college has established close relationship with overseas sister or cooperative universities, including the South-east Asian countries & mainland China.  Recently, new exchange activities have been undergoing with Japanese university in academic visit and student summer internship. In recent year, overseas students have come from the world including Vietnam, US, New Zealand, Central America, Africa, and Europe.  The college has the largest enrollment number among Taiwan technology universities with offshore program students from Vietnam. 

Alumni and Taiwanese entrepreneur Association: In order to gain resources and working opportunities for Vietnamese and local students, the college has recently operated a Vietnamese Resource Center on Taiwan local campus to serve the needs of Taiwanese entrepreneurs who have invested in Vietnam.  It is also organizing an overseas alumni association in Vietnam including EMBA graduates and the VN-TW business corporations.

International Conference: Each year, the college held Southeast Asia international conference in business management and technology on local campus or overseas sister universities in turn.  International scholars were invited or contributed papers to attend the conference.  The conference has earned high academic reputation in the South-Pacific region.

(3)       Collaboration with Local Industry and Community:

For quality education, practical research with enterprise and development of local community, also trying to increase student job opportunities, the college has paid a big portion of the efforts in cooperating closely with local industries, cultural and agricultural parks, and community centers.   As a result, academic-industrial strategic coalitions were organized and in operation. Emphases are put in the following research and developments.
